So its coming up to my birthday and I been thinking about where to have it. A place where all my friends and family can have fun. Where else but Kyalami Kart Circuit?
Getting ready to race at Kyalami Karting Circuit
I actually had one of my birthdays there a few years back, and fell in love with the place then. And even today I can't think of a better venue. They have so much to offer and lets face it, they are just Cool.
Racing at Kyalami Kart Circuit
Where else can you race karts, have a conference , do team building, host your birthday, stag night, bachelorettes....pretty much any kind of gathering whether work or fun AND at such a cool venue!
Bored on a weekend? Why not pop down there for a few laps with their "arrive and drive" option.
Karting is the closest the average person will ever get to F1. The karts may not be going as fast as F1 cars, but when you're that close to the ground it sure feels like it.
Kyalami Kart Circuit was designed for professional kart racing so the track is fantastic with sharp turns to keep you thinking and great straights to keep your adrenalin pumping. Its design was inspired by the main track and you can't help but pretend you are one of the greats, racing along at Kyalami.
Kart Cafe
Kart Cafe Balcony
Kart Cafe is the Circuits own Restaurant and Bar (please note, no drinking allowed while you're karting) with a great menu, and fantastic view over the kart track as well as part of the main track.

Even Sasha Martenengo likes it!
If you haven't been there yet you are missing out.
Finally it's here! A replacement for the legendary Toyota Tazz. It has been many years since the "starter pack" car was discontinued and it left quite a gap in the market for Toyota, but this month Toyota launched their new "budget car" the Etios. It is available in both Hatch and Sedan models and with a starting price of R115 000 it is ready to take the South African market by storm.
So what exactly does this new "friendly" toyota have to offer?
The engine was designed specifically for the Etios which was originally sold in India exclusively. After it was so well received in India, it has now been brought to South Africa. The Etios is certainly not one of Toyota's classiest or more stylish of their line. It does not have the sexy lines of the Yaris and Auris, or the pure class or the new Corolla, and it may not be a cute as the Aygo but what it lacks in looks in makes up for in price.
Toyota's have a very good reputation in South Africa for hard working reliable cars and the Etios is no exception. So where you could get a smaller, more fuel efficient hatch for the same price, I feel this is a fantastic deal.
It is the perfect car for anyone, it has space for families but small enough for students. It is comfortable, reliable and lets face it, it has a great smile
Just a follow up to let you guys know that I have my Corsa Utility back and am still amazed by the fantastic service I received by the Car Service City Edenvale team.
We still have a bit of a journey together as I slowly bit by bit fix the damage done by the previous owners but I will happily return to them and highly recommend them.
I am currently having my car serviced by "Car Service City" and am experiencing such great service, that I thought I'd share.
I'm sure many of you have already seen or received one of their pamphlets that they have been distributing at Robots throughout Gauteng. Well I'd highly recommend getting a quote from them before you go for your next service.
I have been dealing with Asher from the greenstone/ Edenvale branch and I am so thoroughly impressed by his honesty and customer service. The team of mechanics went through my bakkie with a fine toothed comb and let me know each and every detail. They were honest and helped advise me on what needed to be done and why.
As you know, I have had some pretty bad experiences with workshops in the past. My horrific and dangerous experience with Williums Hunt has put me off them for life, but this place is looking like a rare find in this country. A place that actually cares about their customers and not just making money.
Well done to Asher, Memory and the team at Edenvale as well as to the company. It is so refreshing to find such good customer service.
I am so looking forward to getting my Bakkie back from them, running beautifully and all sparkly clean
Basically it is a series of tweaks and design changes to reduce the impact of Volkswagencars on the environment.
With these changes to the cars, and a corrective change to driving style, one can save up to 10% on fuel costs.
Here are some of the changes to the vehicles
Aerodynamic
Small changes to the bodywork ensure a more aerodynamic vehicle. The front grill for instance has been changed to have less wind resistance, this goes for the wheel hubs as well. They have also narrowed the gaps between the cars panels, lowered the wheel arches and changed the spoilers. The less drag, the easier the car can move forward.
Low Rolling Resistance Tyres
These tyres need less engine power to propel the car forward, therefore saving fuel and lowering emissions, while still offering performance, safety and driveability.
Stop-start Technology
This Technology is especially great for city driving and traffic jams, instead of idling away using (wasting) fuel, it works by switching the engine off when the vehicle is stopped and "seamlessly" re-starting it when the brake pedal is released (in automatics) or the clutch is engaged (in manuals). Thus saving fuel and reducing the environmental impact. And if you don't like that idea....you can deactivate it.
The BlueMotion Technology is available on the following Volkswagen Vehicles to varying degrees
"On Saturday, Judge Bill Prinsloo granted an urgent interdict, brought by the Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance (Outa), to stop the e-tolling system so that a full court review could be carried out to determine whether it should be scrapped.
“I make the following order... the first respondent (Sanral) is interdicted and restrained from levying and collecting tolls,” he said.
Prinsloo said while he realised Sanral would suffer huge financial losses, the public would also suffer hardship if the controversial project went ahead.
E-tolling was to have started on Monday on 185km of highway in Johannesburg and Tshwane."
